Scarlett didn’t like waiting.
Waiting felt long.
Waiting felt stretchy.
Waiting felt like nothing was happening.
“I wish it would hurry up,” she sighed.
Pudding paced in little circles.
Lenny sat very still.
Scarlett looked at the clock.
Then again.
Nothing changed.
But then she noticed something.
The birds were still singing.
The sky was still moving.
Pudding’s tail was still wagging.
Waiting wasn’t empty after all.
It was just… slower.
Scarlett took a breath.
“I can wait,” she said quietly.
“I don’t have to rush time.”
And somehow, the waiting felt softer.
