One afternoon, Scarlett felt something strange.
She felt happy.
And… heavy.
At the same time.
She laughed when Pudding chased his tail.
But her chest still felt a little tight.
“I don’t understand,” Scarlett said, sitting beside Lenny.
“How can I feel both?”
Lenny didn’t answer straight away.
He never rushed the important things.
Scarlett thought about it.
She liked the day.
She liked being here.
And still, something inside her felt wobbly.
Pudding came over and rested his head on her knee.
Scarlett closed her eyes.
The happy feeling didn’t disappear.
The heavy feeling didn’t either.
But something else happened.
They made room for each other.
“I think… they can sit together,” Scarlett said slowly.
“I don’t have to choose.”
Lenny smiled.
That night, as Scarlett climbed into bed, she felt calmer.
Not because the heavy feeling had gone.
But because it was allowed to stay — without taking everything over.
🫶 Dream big dreams.
