Scarlett stood at the bottom of the climbing frame and looked up.
It seemed taller than usual today.
Pudding wagged his tail at the bottom, ready for anything.
Lenny sat under Scarlett’s arm, as steady as ever.
“I’m not sure I can do it,” Scarlett whispered.
The ladder looked long.
Her hands felt small.
“What if I fall?” she asked.
Lenny didn’t answer.
He simply stayed.
Scarlett took a breath and lifted one foot onto the first rung.
It felt wobbly.
But it also felt brave.
She didn’t climb to the top that day.
She climbed three steps.
And when she climbed back down, she smiled.
Because sometimes bravery isn’t reaching the top.
Sometimes bravery is just taking the first step.
🫶 Dream big dreams.
