Pudding wants to talk about a feeling thatās a little tricky to admit to. š¾
Itās the twisty feeling you get when someone else has something you want.
A toy. A bike. An invitation. Even attention from someone you care about.
That feeling is called jealousy, and hereās something important:
Everyone feels it. Grown-ups, children, even dogs (Pudding may have felt a flicker of something when another dog got a bigger treat once).
Jealousy isnāt a sign that youāre a bad friend, or a bad person.
Itās just your brain noticing something youād like too.
Hereās what helps:
Name it: āI think Iām feeling jealous right now.ā
Notice what you actually want: Not necessarily their exact thing ā but what feeling or experience is underneath it?
Let the other person have their good thing without it taking away from yours.
You can feel a twist of jealousy and still be genuinely happy for someone.
Both things can live in you at the same time. š¾š«¶
